I'm in the middle of a very bad ulcerative colitis flare up after a course of antibiotics. Been doing lots of reading on probiotics and realize the yogurt that I take I would need to eat 25 servings a day in order for it to be beneficial. Lots of evidence that both unpasteurized sauerkraut and unpasteurized kimchi are my best natural sources. But I'm guessing almost all supermarket purchases will be pasteurized and the bacteria's will be dead. Anyone ever see either of these products at health food stores Etc? Any help is greatly appreciated

Two farm kids or Hedleys might have it, but I’m not sure. It’s possible to make it yourself, if you’re interested.  
 
Have you looked into Kefir? It has more bacteria than yogourt and almost all grocery stores sell it.

I cant remember name of health store in mall(not gnc) but I purchased unpasteurized saurkraut there. Was first time trying it and found it much tastier than grocery store saurkraut. It was a bit pricey however. Look in the fridges as it should be refrigerated.

Two Farm Kids Natural Foods has Kimchi that is made just around Winnipeg. Very Good

This is in Minnedosa, not sure if they ship/deliver, or if you can get someone to pick up for you, but the products are locally made and used by the owner.

Kissel brand saurkraut is available in the cooler section of the Corral Center Safeway. Walk just past the bagged salads, the mushrooms and fresh herbs and if it is available you will see heads of sour cabbage and tubes of saurkraut. I think it is about $5 for just over a pound.

Superstore had the Wildrine brand but I see they are 'out of stock'. Go to: wildbrine.com and see their selection on line. It says raw (not sure if that is the same as unpasteurized) - you have to be careful (food labels lie!!). Like you said, it may not be possible to get unpasteurized because you cannot find cheeses etc. that are unpasteurized in Canada at least. Good luck to you. I guess you could make your own too. To me, that would be alot of work.
