Just wondering who has the best selection of eyeglass frames in Brandon and also the best spot to get your eyes checked? For mens glasses.

I'm going to recommend FYI doctors in the mall. They went above and beyond for me when I was in an "emergency" situation when my own eye doctor wouldn't give me the time of day. Most places do all the same tests and stuff but there customer service was amazing.

A lot of people on Ebrabdon have tried Zenni Optical an online optical dispencer and been very satisfied and very low prices

You can get prescription safety goggles, sunglasses, sports goggles.  
Also get funky frames, seasonal frames for Xmas and hallowe'en.  
Video on site tells you how to measure your PD.  
All the other info you need your eye doctor gives you a print out....for free.

I like 39dollarglasses.com. It is US based and run by optometrists there.  
 
Upon receiving my frames, I noticed a tiny nick on an obscure spot on my frame, contacted them and they sent a new frame free, no hassles. I wanted to see for myself the level of service, and it was very good.  
 
They send a few freebies along too...cleaning cloth and a little screwdriver tool as a kit, and the glasses were well packed and were put in a good hard case.  
 
They are fast & inexpensive and had one of the best overall ratings in every category when I compared a variety of online options.  
 
I found a place where someone compares all of the online companies, tests out claims, quality of coatings, price for what you get, etc. If I could remember the site, I would pass it on.  
 
39DollarGlasses has a try it on a picture of your face feature too, which helped me choose what suited me best.  
 
They offered titanium, which I found hard to find. I also found that they had more styles available so I could find the style that best suits me. They also had really easy to use and follow measuring instructions. I think it was much more precise than the others that I tried.  
 
Try to do some research. It is worth it.

I agree FYI in the mall or Town Centre is great as far as getting your eyes checked. Dr. Beaumont especially is super. I would love to buy glasses from them, but can't afford it.  
 
I found Zenni... you get what you pay for. They were cheap, cheap, cheap and not worth my time.  
 
My current pair I bought at Superstore when they had a 1/2 price frames & lenses, so the whole thing cost me about $150 including all my coatings. I've been wearing them for almost 4 years with no problems, even after stepping on them and nearly breaking them (they twisted them back into shape for me).  
 
They seem to be a better balance between quality and price, but I would wait for an awesome sale before buying. My husband's current pairs (regular & sun) are from them, we got a buy 1 get 1 deal and got 2 pairs for about $300 which is awesome for his prescription. Again, very sturdy.

After spending thousands and thousands over the past decade on glasses (and we normally wait for so called 50% off sales) only to find the customer service is no where near what it used to be, the prices are kind of bait and switch, the one place really pushes their fave brand of contacts over what you ask for, and many more issues, we tried Clearly Contacts and Zenni.  
 
Could not be happier. CC are pretty decent for contacts, I do find them pricier but quick service. They have name brand frames(like CK, Kors and more) that are identical to what you can get locally but a FRACTION of the cost.  
 
Zenni has been great. Yes, they are cheaper glasses, but I love that. I wear mine only to watch TV and drive, so I am always taking them off and losing them - so I have about seven pairs now. I did not pay more than $10 per pair (even for sunglasses) and have had only one quality issue - a loose screw that I fixed myself with the screwdriver kit that comes with it. I loved one pair of sunglasses so much I ordered two more pairs of identical ones. At that price, you don't worry so much about losing them on the beach or waterslides, or whatever. I actually find they are lasting very well for me this way, as I leave a pair in the car and in the house, and they seem to get less beat up.  
 
What really burned me the most was finding my supposedly $800 Maui Jim shades at Costco in the US - for $89 WITH PRESCRIPTION lenses.  
 
Like I said, trying my best to support local where I can, but that is such a huge discrepancy it really hurts. Even if you have some extended health coverage to help cover the prices.  
 
Agreed, the doctors at the Town Centre are very thorough and can usually get you in quickly, especially if urgent situations.

We have always used FYI, formerly Total Eye Care. They have always looked after us and go above and beyond to assist, and rectify any problems we have had with our purchases. They give us a loyalty discount, and with the cost of a progressive lens we really appreciated it. I just like face to face service.

I will only buy my glasses from clearly contacts from now on. I like the FULL refund if I am not completely satisfied for any reason. With Zenni, you only get a 50% refund. I can order a pair, if I don't like them, send them back and try again. they have a promo on right now for free lenses. I got a complete pair of glasses for $49.00. I have a pretty bad prescription so I need the special thin lenses. In Brandon, any time I have ordered glasses it was well over $500. I will never go back!  
And for contacts I now use Lens perfect. Same brand name contacts, but by far the cheapest.

my first order with Zenni. I ordered 7 pairs of glasses and the cost (with the crappy U.S. dollar $60.00) came to aprox $230.00. you cannot come near to that locally. At that price I don't really care much about the glasses lasting long term either. Im also pretty hard my glasses and leave them all over the place too. Plus I get bored easy. Next stop will be trying the contacts online.
