It is the most painful reaction I've ever had to any of my scent allergies. I can't go to craft shows or anywhere that sells these oils and has the thieves oil with it. I've had to ask everyone in my life to not use this scent. Lavender is also a trigger for me (anything floral), but the thieves one is unreal.
Just something for people to consider when buying/using these products.
To op, I've heard the diffusers scentsy sells are pretty good! " |

You cannot be allergic to a scent. You may have a reaction to the smell because your body is detoxing though. It would be similar to a detox when you first start using probiotics if your gut is extremely out of balance. You may feel worse when first beginning the use of the probiotic, because it is restoring your body to a more natural state.
It''s the same with the oils, you may be lacking something in your body that the oil is providing, which is causing you to have a bad reaction to it. As for allergies, the only way you could have an allergy to an oil is if it is not a pure oil. If there is other junk in it, you could have an allergy to that, but a 100% pure oil, you cannot. The oil that comes from the particular plant does not contain any of the allergens that may be present in the actual plant. Ie. if you are allergic to grapefruit, you cannot be allergic to the oil.
Also, if you find the scent of an oil gross, start rubbing it on the bottom of your feet everyday. Your body will take what it needs from the oils, and you will start enjoying the scent after a while.
