Help with picking a trade!!!

Well I need help deciding with a trade. I want to enroll in the apprenticeship program. I have 10 years in aircraft maintenance experience. I'm debating whether I want to go the heavy duty mechanic way or "change path" and go in the plumber field. There is pro's and con's for both but I would like to hear from people out there in those fields and their views on it. I'm ready to start the apprenticeship right away, how hard is it to get hired as a first year apprentice? thanks in advance.
