Hello I am 30 years old and I suffer from tempera mandibular joint disorder I have constant ear aches, hearing pains. Jaw pain facial pain headaches migraine, muscle pain have several trips to er and Dr office and specialists . I don't understand how medicare could just leave me in pain because I am not a candidate for surgery as I suffer from a bleeding condition which my blood does not clot because it's too risky they will not operate. I done understand why the patients are discriminated against because they deem this dental when it should be classified as dental. I am barley keeping a job the pain is debilitating on a daily basis and someday I cannot eat solid foods or in fact open my mouth as my range of motion is very minimal. The suggestion treatment is a brace therapy to realignment of the jaw. Starting at $2226.00 in Winnipeg . There are no tmj clinics in Brandon and I have even been turned away by the er at times with lock jaw. So I am trying to find out if there anybody else In Brandon with this condition I need to bring awareness to people we need to band together and make noise about this the lack of coverage and medical care and compassion towards us as patients. I have it. Had surgery 2001 that they cleaned things up was told would need surgery again in the future. They said the cushion that protects bone from rubbing on bone was what causes the pain and would need to be replaced. I have been told it has to do with me grinding my teeth. I do get the pain that is like an ear ache and my glands in my neck get sore like when you have a cold sometimes but no where near as bad as you have it. Sorry Things change over the years and don't know where I would go now if I needed help also

While you wait for surgery, add the supplement Vitamin K to your routine. It was discovered by a German that referred to it as a Klotting (?) and that is why it begins with a K.  
 
It is usually combined with Vitamin D and has been shown to greatly increase bone density when taken in this combination.  

Thank u for the suggestions I am unable to have surgery because of the clotting condition nobody will attpt it so they want to treat with splint plus braces. I am trying to form a support group for these issues. I feel like I'm in survival mode just trying to get by at work and in life. I have also had depression because of this so would like to help other people like me suffering.

I can relate to you totally!! I am 55 years old. My TMJ causes so much pain all the time. Every time I open my mouth to eat it bangs together because there is no cushioning left. I have constant headaches, and mouth pain. I wake up with a headache every morning. It locks up quite often. I went for an mri and was told that it was not severe enough to do surgery yet. My dentist sent me to Winnipeg to see a specialist and he wanted to make appliances for my mouth, which would have cost about $3000.00 which i don't have and my insurance wouldn't cover a cent of it. So I was sent to the surgeon who said the appliances wouldn't help me so sent me for the mri. So now I'm still in terrible pain all the time!

I feel your pain. I'd rather have another baby then have another tmj flare up. I did not have surgery, but physio, acupuncture, chiropractor and stretching his alleviated all my pain most days. If you haven't already tried it it's worth a shot, you won't be disappointed. Stitt chiropractic on 18th is the only chiropractor I have found that adjusts the jaw.

and had surgery. But it has not helped to the fullest and flair-ups reoccur. Have you looked into an option of payment plan for the device they give you as an alternative to the surgery or even a line of credit? Both have low interest.
