21st Annual Need To Day
5/15/2008 at 10:27 AM
When a woman loses her husband she is called a widow, when a man loses his wife he is called a widower. When a parent loses their child there is no word for it. That is how profound that loss is. That is why The Compassionate Friends of Southwestern Manitoba invites bereaved parents, grandparent, siblings and their friends and family to their 21st annual "Need to" weekend taking place on Saturday May 24th 2008. We need to celebrate the lives of the children that we have lost. We need to remember and we need to support one another.
We will kick off our "Need to" weekend at 10 am at Eleanor Kidd Gardens where all in attendance are welcome to participate in our Butterfly Memorial walk. After the walk everyone is welcome to enjoy a time of fellowship during our barbeque lunch. At 2 pm everyone is welcome to join us at our office located at #2-1321 13th street to hear one of our members speak about her personal grief journey. Following the guest speaker all are invited to a time of remembrance and reflection at the Children's Memorial Garden at the Brandon Municipal Cemetery for our Balloon lift-off and Memorial service which will commence at 4 pm.
Let's celebrate the fact that our loved ones and friends lived, and that their lives made a difference in ours.
