Hello Superheroes!  
Did you hear that on October 1, 2017 Grim Acres Scare Away Cancer, in association with Westman Communications and the Keystone Centre, they are attempting to break the current world record of 1580 people dressed up as superheroes in one place!  
I searched their site on grimacres.ca and found the time of the event and all the superhero costumes allowed to beat this record. I stopped in the Halloween store setting up on 18th street the other day. I thought I might have to buy through the internet but the manager of the store has a list of costumes allowed and will be able to help me select one right here in Brandon! I think they open the first part of September.  
I see they are looking for volunteers to help out the day too! I might be able to do that too!  
Come on let's set a world record here in Brandon!

We would like to add: free admission, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society gladly accepted at the door. Only APPROVED COSTUMES will be allowed. (no villains, no superhero hoodies, or superhero t shirts, etc. Approved wear MUST be a COSTUME, they can not be variations of a defined costume). What a great idea to support such a great cause. I will definitely be out to support this event with my entire family. Who doesn't want to be a superhero for a good cause? Sounds like a lot of fun

Just a reminder that there are TWO separate events om Oct 1st.  
For the World Record Attempt Event from 1-4pm, PLEASE read the rules and info for the event on our Be A Superhero in the Fight Against Cancer World Record Attempt Event Facebook page( link is listed below). Only APPROVED costumes will be allowed. The only people allowed in without costumes are volunteers and entertainment staff as well as family of the Brandon School of Dance . This means that for everyone else, parents and participants MUST WEAR COSTUMES. There are very specific rules for this SUPERHERO COSTUME event that Guiness World Records has. Anyone who does not follow or meet the criteria WILL not be allowed in. We thank you for your support.  
 
Bud Spud Dinner fundraiser is an all ages event, and costume optional
