Recycling, what happens to....

I try to do my part for the environment, I try to recycle as much as possible.
I often wonder, what really happens to the recyclables we put in the recycling bin. I mean, how much of that actually gets recycled and how much ends up in the landfill anyways? Does the city of Brandon ship them to some recycling facility?
