Weather page rain gauges are back online
4/30/2018 at 11:13 AM
As per the subject, both the South Brandon and West Brandon rain gauges are now setup for the season just in time for whatever rain we might get today. From now and into the fall you can check the weather page to see how much rain has fallen within the past hour and how much has fallen in total on the day. I've found it particularly handy during and after a thunderstorm to get an idea just how much moisture we saw, and in some cases to see what differences there might've been between the West and South parts of the city.
While I was in turning these on I also made a small addition to the Webcam section of the Weather page. The camera has been operational for a year now, and while it's been running it's been slowly building an archive of hourly images every day. As that archive gets bigger it gives the chance for some interesting comparisons. That i:ncludes now being able to click on the "last year" link below the camera image to see what the view looked like at this same time last year. Probably no surprise to folks with our later start to "spring," but last year's pic looks just a little bit greener!
Enjoy!
