Any updates? I hear they're starting to evacuate some houses?

What part of Souris ? Has it been burning long?

I believe south of the creek. Police were in way about an hour ago

sw corner of town. burnt in from the fields to the west. it was burning in down the creek and rail line last i saw

Id like to know what started it. We live right on 2 and watched every fire truck and water truck go flying by the house. Thers a municipality wide burning ban! How does this happen??

There were some old hay bales to the south of the yard and if they had been heating because they were tough it might of just been a situation of the really warm weather, a good supply of air because of the wind, and a bale that had gotten exceptionally warm.  
Think that the term used for such events is spontaneous combustion, ragged soaked in linseed oil are a material that can ignite at a very low flash point.

11:18 pm and just seen 3 fire trucks go flying by the house again!

Apparently welding sparks accidentally caused the fire
