Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:
City of Brandon
Mun. of Oakland-Wawanesa incl. Carroll
R.M. of Cornwallis west of Shilo incl. Chater
At 4:21 p.m. CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.
This cluster of severe thunderstorms is currently located from Shilo to Pipestone and is tracking slowly northwards.
Twoonie sized hail was recently reported near Beresford.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.
