GrowingRoyals said "I live off highway 10 south and I am so shocked that I am not many (1!) grader or sanding truck... I am shocked that they have shut down all highways in southern Manitoba for what is a normal winter snow storm!
Anyone else feeling like this is a tad overboard? If things were kept up, and sanding/salting/clearing was done, people could continue on - with needed winter driving precautions... "
The issue is that if this system did dump 60CM+ in Brandon consistently and the province did nothing it would be a problem.
Now that the system was a "failure" it is also an issue that the province went overboard in preparation.
So I guess its a lose lose..
