It was a total whiteout with zero visibility! Major roads were closed because it was unsafe to be out travelling and it’s unsafe to be out in a grader or sanding truck in those conditions!

I wonder if maybe government planners had flash backs to that nasty storm we got a few years back where people were stranded for days in their vehicles on the side of the road and wanted to play it safe by limiting the amount of traffic out and about.

I'm for one am not against their decision to close most of the highways preemptively, I think we hit 80 or 90 kmh winds at some point yesterday.

I look at my yard and see drifts nearly 3 feet high, a pile near my walkway over 4 feet high after shoveling it 3 times and then a spot that the grass is still poking thru lol.

And the snow was weird, yesterday it was surprisingly light and fluffy but looked heavy, today its just heavy

Any final numbers for snow amount in Brandon? Doesn't seem like we got much compared to pictures I've seen north and south of here. I don't think i would have needed to shovel my driveway except for some drifts from the high winds.

Just 12cm was the report I saw from up at the airport. Just because of what the wind did with it, our driveway was a good solid 30-40cm pretty much throughout while the street in front had next to nothing. Best description I saw was that it was like shoveling ice cream. I left a little if you or anyone else is feeling they got shafted out of some exercise
