Just checked the weather network. Possible 10cm of snow tonight?

Sounds like there's been a lot of uncertainty with the way this system will effect the province. The posting below from John Sauder (CBC) seems to indicate that most recent models have Brandon dodging the worst of it (1.4cm by noon Thursday):

Latest EC weather statement has Brandon at 2-5cm from this system with amounts increasing as you go East of Carberry. Still doesn't rule out the band of heaviest snow shifting West.

The latest model put out by Sauder around supper time had us at 3.8cm by late Thursday afternoon

Will see what if any changes there are to expectations in the morning

Is the CBC website has has a bright red "severe weather warning" up on their site since Sunday announcing this system.

As of right now, Environment Canada is still not calling it a watch or warning, only a statement. Heck, even if you click their links (in bright red) that takes you to the EC website, it clearly states it is only a statement as of yet.

They just remind me of a little boy that cried wolf they way they jump to worst possible scenario even to the contrary of the official Canadian site. I thing they are causing panic and apathy this way.

Plan ahead yes, but don't jump so fast to the alarms and whistles.

Any snowfall warnings last night and at the moment have been for points East of here.... I'm guessing CBC has been picking those up. Now no weather statement from EC in effect that would apply to Brandon and immediate area... Only a forecast that calls for 5cm of snow:

What is in effect and applying to us too as per Weather Network is an alert from Manitobs Hydro to potential for localized power outages because of snow/frost/wind/sagging power lines:
