I have a lot of respect for Greg Johnson and the way he covers these kinds of events. The posting below refers to there being a "slight" risk of tornado and a "very good" chance of severe storms in the area including golf ball hail:  
 

Watches currently in place by Environment Canada are in Saskatchewan as of now. Via Prairie and Arctic Storm Prediction Centre they are likely to also put watches out for Manitoba as storms develop in Saskatchewan this afternoon and move into our province this evening:

Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, damaging hail and heavy rain.  
 
Severe thunderstorms which are developing in Saskatchewan this afternoon will move into western Manitoba this evening. Large hail and damaging wind gusts will be the main threats with these thunderstorms. The system should move eastward and weaken during the overnight hours.  
 
Very large hail can damage property, break windows, dent vehicles and cause serious injury. Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!

Sure got dark to the West and Northwest in a hurry.  
 
RM of Pipestone as well as RM of Wallace (including Varden, Eklhorn, Kenton) are under a severe storm warning now with main threats said to be "very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain." https://weather.gc.ca/warnings/report_e.html?mb6  
 
Its still officially a watch and not warning for Brandon. Not sure what other folks' interpretation is, but to me radar has it looking like about 1-2 hours away from approaching the Brandon area in whatever form it takes... but of course it takes a wiser person than I to say what effects who and how much it gains strength or weakens?

As of 17:58 its now a tornado warning for the same areas. Stay safe!

hubby just called from Roblin and Lake of the Prairies has had 3 severe thunderstorms already today. (that is right, I am home looking after the yard, the flowers, etc and he is out there relaxing)

Looks like Brandon was pretty lucky with this one. Some impressive bolts in the sky, less than a half mm of rain and unofficially the experimental wind gauge I have setup picked up gusts of wind less than 30 km/hr. Here's hoping it hasn't been as bad as radar looked for folks to the South and West.  
 
I do see radar showing more storms in Sask at the moment and the forecast mentions additional thunderstorm possibility for Brandon after midnight....

I hear thunder....rain a bit out there...any other news ??
