aftermarket stereo install

wondering if all i need is a data retention harness to retain chimes and how easy or difficult to install.? would i need a regular harness as well? i have a 2002 grand am. need some input because i cannot afford to take to install places. i have some experience installing car stereos but this might be a little challenging
