What’s the difference between going to Best Buy and their contracts and phones with Bell and going to Bell/MTS in the mall?

The latest iPhone and they told me the plan I had would cost $15 more per month and the phone was around $150 more than what Rogers store had. I said I was old I could keep my plan and then said it was Rogers who said I couldn’t. Then when I found out the phone was more I left. Went to the Rogers store and it was then I realized the $15 was probably just a Best Buy thing and so was the extra cost. Just go to a Bell or Rogers store.

These days, I''''m thinking that price is likely the only consideration left. As far as I know, all of the coverage footprints are now the same (for better or worse, I suppose), so its now down to your preference.  
 
The mall is a good place to start. You have all of the main carriers, plus most of the secondary providers through kiosks or Wirelesswave.

Not sure of all the differences, but go see Brandon at Telus by Corral Centre. Very knowledgeable and friendly, and can work with you to find the best deal!

Cell coverage is NOT the same! I have Rogers (it’s a work phone) and my wife and kids all have TELUS. I don’t get LTE in my house, but my family does. And I don’t get cell service for much of the trip from Brandon to Winnipeg. I also didn’t get service when I was in the St. Vital area in Winnipeg, and my family did. Rogers has probably the worst coverage in Manitoba.

Most of the towers are shared now, thats true. However it still depends on the carriers choice of equipment they put on that shared tower. The frequencies they are allowed to broadcast on and interference and to some extent the network load.  
 
So no, they aren't all the same. I dont have any input on who to chose aside from bundling options. They can save you some cash, whether it be multiple cell phones with rogers/telus or tv+internet+cells with MTS.
