Mts Is Shutting Down The Tower My Cell Phone Uses . Sent Me A Phone In The Mail Its A Cheap Pay As You Go Flip Phone.I Have Been Off Contract For Years Because I Didnt Want To Give Up My Flip Phone This Thing Worked Any Where In The Province And Never With Out Service. The Phone I Have Was Classed As Army Issue Just Wandering What Type Of Service I Will Get With New Phone Name Is Alcatel Go Flip . Any One Using This Model And What Is The Service Like.

new phone wont get signal 2 km out of town or sometimes in the house max signal 1 bar. mts tells me to upgrade to a fancey phone to old to learn how to use one. wish they didnt shut this down old saying if it ant broke why fix it. been with them 32 plus years well i guess its time to say good bye and try some one else.

You can switch cell phone providers all you want but nobody runs a CDMA network here anymore.  
 
Its old tech that doesnt have any modern benefits to it. Its not worth any carriers time to keep maintaining that network when I'd guess 90% of the customer base is on the GSM LTE network. Its hard to find replacement parts or expensive for the CDMA stuff now too.  
 
Telus, Rogers, Bell, Bell MTS all run GSM networks and are shutting down any CDMA network left in their system. If you cant handle the service now changing providers wont make much difference. Its all GSM now and the phone you choose can make a difference.

You will get better reception on a smart phone I am sure. They are not that hard to learn; my 84 year old grandpa uses one with no difficulty.

it doesn't have to be a smart phone. You can use any unlocked GSM phone, of any form factor.  
 
Just pop in the correct size of SIM card, and you're good.

I agree 100 per cent with you.to much tech suff on cars,cell phones even in homes things you can call to turn your heat or lights on start your car from 100 miles away what happens when all this tech starts to act up and do its own thing. the world is now run on tech stuff. when a computer or divice goes down i have seen buisness have to shut down till problem solved . mpi,s system is so old now and can not shut down to do upgrades whats going to happen when their system finaly crashes and loses all our info on licences and insurance. this could happen any time. ANY WAY THATS 1 OLD GUYS OPINION .

Basic functions, large buttons, camera, texting, and a battery that can last potentially up to 4 days. Will be looking for one of these for my not so tech savy parents.

Well, they did start remaking the Nokia 3310 in the last couple years. It's updated for 2017, but definitely not a smartphone. Could check that out.

Open up the browser of your choice. Some examples may i:nclude Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer. Personally I am a Chrome man myself.  
 
Next you need to type www.google.ca in the address bar at the top. Advanced users will learn that you do not need the "www." but it is good practice.  
 
Now in the middle of the Google page you will see a text bar. Type "Nokia 3310" or "Nokia 3310 for sale." Scroll through results and you will see the sellers websites such as Best Buy. A little known shortcut to find out if it is sold at a specific retailer is to put "Nokia 3310 Wal-Mart." (Or whichever retailer you want to know) It saves so much time scrolling! Amazing!!
