Has anyone ever got a new cell contract and the next day returned and cancelled it? A plan change with Bell isn’t sitting right with me so I might return it tomorrow and go to another provider. My receipt says I have 15 days to return it if I’m not satisfied. I’m wondering what the catch is though - would I be stuck with the ‘$35 activation fee’ because they opened a SIM card for it? I know I can ask them tomorrow. I would have it in my possession less than 24 hours but just curious if anyone has done this.

Yes I have, but it was due to not liking the phone, not a contract issue. As long as the phone is in 100% new condition you’ll be fine.

There are certain terms and conditions for returning it along with being in new condition. There has to be under a certain amount of minutes/data/etc. used.  
 
Also, you said there was a plan change but if you're on a contract, the only way there should be any change to your plan was if you made said change

I have returned a device I didn't like before (years ago, when CDMA Blackberries were still a thing LOL). Don't remember what costs were involved (likely a restocking fee, and of course losing the activation fee), but they weren't ridiculous.  
 
I'm thinking that there must be a built-in 15 day trial period by law.
