I went into the Rogers store, then got referred to the Wireless Wave store on Thursday night to look at upgrading my device and switching to the new infinite plan to save on data overages ( I normally don't use more than my 10GB plan unless I am away for work).  
 
Long story shortened, I was told (by both stores) that if I wanted to update my plan from the share everything to the infinite plan I would lose my 30% discount. Rogers is discontinuing all their discounts when customers change to the new plans. The share everything plans are also being discontinued.  
 
This is just a heads up for those who have Rogers discounts and want to change from their current plans to the new Infinite, you will lose your discount.  
 
If you are a CF member like myself, Telus has an awesome deal right now. Brand new phone, 30% discount, $200 bill credit if you bring your number from your current provider and offers $80 Canada wide plan with unlimited text, video and picture messaging with 10gb of data. You can also chose their unlimited data plans with the discounts.  
 
CF members can go to CFappreciation.ca and find this deal. Its only available online though, the Telus store will look at you like you have a toaster on your head if you ask for it there... first hand experience LOL.

That's why never stick to one company when renewing. Always choose different provider. That's what I do, and I get many many extras. I went from telus to Rogers, because I got many extras, such as free otterbox cover and screen protector. Also recieved bill credit and a $75 gift card.  
 
When telus found out that I switched, they called me and trying to get me back. I told them what Rogers gave me and their ohh we cant do any better. So I complained to them, letting the, know they don't give 2 sh**s about keeping their existing customers.  
 
From then on, I never stick to one provider anymore.

what they don't tell you about the infinite plan is that it is slower speed data so you will use more data than you did before. i wouldn't be surprised if you had to upgrade to 20g after the first month.

That statement just isnt true.  
 
All 3 big com company's now do "unlimited data" plans like MTS used to offer before Bell bought them. Those 10,20,50GB plans are full LTE speeds up to that data threshold. Only once you go over that limit, is your speed slowed down to less than half a MBPS.  
 
If you are using more than 10GB in a month on your cell phone regularly then you should prob go with the 20GB unlimited plan to start with. The vast majority of people dont exceed 10GB usage in a month due to being connected to wi-fi most of the time. The perk to this is you can use up to the limit at full speed and then have no data overage fee's once you go over that limit. Yes its much, much slower but will be enough for emails and text based applications and websites.  
 
If that doesnt work for you then dont get the unlimited plan.. Stick with your 10 or 15gb plan and pay overages for the occasional time you do go over.  
 
Maybe i just didn't understand your comment due to the way it was worded and if thats the case, my bad. You just made it seem like even the first 10/20/50 GBS is slower than any other plan.

Buy your device, keep your old plan. Costs more upfront, but long term savings. My plan would have gone up $30+ per month. Only 24 months pays off your phone but that is a permanent increase untill you resign for a new contract that will surely be more expensive. I have 3 share everything devices and never exceed 10gb.
