I have a hp laserjet pro m26nw printer...It has been working fine for a couple of years..  
 
I ran out of paper, and put in more paper and now my wifi won't pick up my printer...  
 
I tried phoning hp help line and was on the phone with them for over an hour, and he didn't know what he was doing, so I told him I would call back later and talk to someone else...He obviously was offended but nothing he did was working...I let him remotely access my computer as well, and I could see he was just fishing around randomly...  
 
I did a test report, which printed out fine...and it says "your hp printer cannot find your wireless router"  
Diagnostics summary says:  
wireless on....pass  
wireless working...pass  
network name (ssid) found....fail  
 
 
I have unplugged the router....I have tried turning off the printer (as it suggested) tried turning off my computer..I think there is a simple solution but don't know what it is...I will phone MTS on monday for tech support, but really would like to print something today, if anyone might have had this happen and a simple fix....thanks

Try uninstalling your printer. Switch off, then restart and see if it finds your printer.

I have had this printer for several years. The wireless radio failed after about 18 months old. There does not seem to be a fix. I simply connected the printer directly to a USB port and have been using it in this way for the past 3 years. Defeats the feature of wireless, but it's still a good full featured printer. Don't know if the radio itself is a module and can be replaced, probably cost more than the initial printer.

One of my HP wifi devices suffered a bug that caused it to either refuse or intermittently connect to my network which i ended up nailing down to the onboard software having a bug that it didn't like certain combination of security and password type. I ended up reconfiguring my network to accommodate the device, but eventually HP updated their printer software(firmware) to eliminate that problem .  
 
it was a massive PITA to troubleshoot, and i do this sort of thing routinely. So if it gets unruly, it might be less stressful to just hand it off to a patient troubleshooter, or buy new

my son uninstalled the printer, (using the disc) and reinstalled it...It works perfectly now...thanks for all the suggestions...

Glad it worked, hopefully will give no more problems. Thanks for letting us know the outcome.
