Most likely Rogers or Bell as the Crocus area and area behind Staples is pretty bad at times. Telus has a tower only a few blocks from there so wouldn’t be them.

Per (mostly) my Rogers drive test survey, LTE signals are REALLY bad in the south part of town. Thus BellMTS will also be exactly the same level of bad because of the shared network in the city, and other places.

I recently noticed a crane next to Scotia Towers doing some work and now it looks like they have some sort of cellular antennas as well. Seeing that Rogers/Bell have antennas only a block or two away and Telus has one at the apartment building at Princess Park, I'm wondering if Scotia Towers one is for Xplore Mobile

The tower on Scotia is a Rogers tower. strictly Rogers.  
 
The tower on 19 19th st is strictly Bell (MTS).  
 
The smaller towers do not have to be shared as there simply is not enough room for all the AP's to be mounted with proper spacing between them.  
 
The new one behind Staples, I can't say with 100% certainty but i believe its Bell (MTS) putting that one up, but due to the size will likely also hold Rogers APs.

By looking at the new tower, I'd say Telus, but I've been wrong before.  
 
Towers don't have to have extra "AP's" on them to work for more than one network, that's just one of the two methods to share a network. Some towers are shared and have antennas etc for each company such as both towrs on the north hill, but here in MB the Rogers/BellMTS/Telus shared network outside city limits is mostly a unique MVNO arrangement, where everything is virtual on one set of radio hardware. Along the TCH in MB, and in Brandon and WPG, Telus has their own towers, and don't share with Rogers or BeMTS as far as I know. Elsewhere(rural), all the networks are sharing the same towers/antennas and have equally squalid coverage characteristics.  
 
You can tell who owns the tower/radio by looking at the E-NodeB (LTE) or Node-B(UMTS) identifiers that cellmapper or any network info app on android (service mode on apple) and observing the numbering scheme patterns.  
 
Rogers LTE: 74xxx, 900xxx  
BellMTS LTE: 200xxx  
Telus LTE: 116xxx  
 
Rogers UMTS: 45xx, 47xx,  
BellMTS UMTS: 14xx, 15xx  
Telus UMTS: ????

Perhaps later today I might get a chance to drive it by with cellmapper on and see if its on

The power meter isn't installed yet.  
 
The structure has no hallmarks for being a BellMTS or Rogers site, but does remind me of Telus in a few ways. RFU's and antennas also look like those deployed nearby by Telus.  
 
I'd be shocked if this new one doesn't turn out to be Telus(and Public Mobile and Koodo)-only.

Well let's hope not, Telus does have a tower on the other side of 1st Street and Richmond, I know that bell MTS said something about installing a tower in the south end of Brandon area about a year or more ago.

Looks like its BellMTS/Rogers... this tower and a site on the roof of a building on Vic East will be turned on later this month. I added a post in the buzz section with a little more info...

I'm looking forward to mapping them out.  
 
Visitors and patients at the hospital will really appreciate the better signal from the Lion's Manor rooftop when that goes live!! Their guest wifi can only take so much, and was of no use for SMS  
 
Now if they could just DO something about the rural service... St Lazare STILL has no wireless service of any kind... despite having an MTS legacy tower at the edge of town, which only has fleetnet service.

Congrats to Deloraine on getting LTE service added to the local MTS tower, I spotted it this week when I was in the area.  
 
So far it's providing LTE on Bands: 5, 12, 17 (850, 700, 700wide) with typical range, and UMTS on band 5 (850 MHz) with excellent range, except towards Medora.  
 
Now if they could just fill-in the gap at Hartney...

Still one lowly bar sitting at Coffee Culture, not much better at the hospital a couple days ago. New tower will be very welcome in this part of town!

Crews are on the roof today installing antennas.

Any update on this? Have not noticed any improved service in either area, so I am assuming they are not live yet.

I live in the 400 block of 5th and can tell you that the lions AP's are live. I have full bars with great RSSI and get well over 100mbps down and 30-75mbps up almost all day now.  
 
If they aren't officially live yet, might've been a test. I noticed this on monday the 16th with 241 down and 40 up with Bell.

Official word this afternoon via BellMTS is that they’re making some final adjustments, both to be brought online in the next few days. Based on the post above sooner rather than later!

Thanks for the official update! Looking forward to it. Both will affect area's I frequent!

1st and Vic LTE Tower # 200346 offering signals on PCS, AWS, and IMT-E bands (1900, 2100, and 2600 MHZ) band# 2,4,7 .  
 
13th and Aberdeen LTE tower # 200345 so far seen offering signals on PCS and IMT-E (1900, 2600 MHz) band# 2, 7.  
 
In St Lazare, the old MTS tower(that has new two-way antennas for emergency services networked radios) is located about 1 mile straight East of the center of town, on the other side of the river up the hill a bit. it can be seen from out of the valley.

Sparkycivic, curious what kind of end result you see on your device re the Aberdeen tower? I've been told Aberdeen's live but on my iPhone I'm in an area that I feel should benefit from it and i still generally flip back and forth between my usual 1 and 2 bars...

I noticed as well a new tower behind the Brandon and Area Planning building at 638 Princess Ave (across from the YMCA). Does anyone have info on that tower? It’s quite the sight!

While I haven't been much around the south end of the city lately, I did go out on the highway yesterday and saw the Aberdeen new tower on my device way out past the dairy barn and on the #110 bypass. after I got onto 1st st the Douglas st tower had me after that.  
 
I find it weird that they decided to put it on Aberdeen and 13th when they could have put it further south, maybe around the southwest corner of the graveyard or even Patricia, which would have avoided all the giant trees to provide best service to the weakest areas which are near Patricia east and west of 18th.  
 
When time allows(maybe over winter), I'll drive those neighborhoods again street by street and the maps will tell the whole new truth.

I saw that too this weekend. I searched online ISED and see that there's a bunch of uhf frequencies licenced to the city at 638 Princess Ave with a tower height of 36.5 meters and power of 25 watts. That would likely be for a trunking(two-way) radio system.

I'm assuming that the new masts are BellMTS/Rogers only, and not shared with Telus/Bell(?) ?  
 
Don't think that Telus really needs the coverage, but just a curiosity either way. More connections can never hurt, even if just from a load shedding standpoint.

My phones are both Rogers, so I map with one set to HSPA("4g") , and the other set to LTE-only.  
 
I've noticed that the new Lions Manor site really helps out with indoor signal at my office5 blocks away (4th and College) even on 2600MHZ. I bet anyone who goes inside the hospital regularly will notice an improvement.  
 
I have had it fairly firmly stop at 6th st, Southern Ave, ACC old campus, and across the valley.  
 
is there a field-test mode for your iphone that can show eNode-B numbers of associated cell and/or neighbor cells and frequency?

I noticed this week that another new LTE signal is on in the Brandon area: e-nodeB number 900039  
 
Curiously it's coming from the old Rogers 350 foot tall Kemnay tower. It took me a few days to figure out, but is confirmed when I had occasion to drive past yesterday and see that new antennas are indeed installed there, and the cellmapper app shows my distance to the tower in meters as I go.  
 
I wonder what problem they were solving with this install? it's only 3 miles west as-the-crow-flies from the nearest existing (BellMTS owned) 250 foot tower. Certainly there are other areas which are in far greater need than urban Kemnay such as St Lazare, Alonsa, Glenella, Winnipegosis, among others!
