Anyone here use prepaid cell service? Or the prepaid SIM cards? Looking for the best deal for my daughter. She does have wifi at home, but likes to be on it outside of the home as well

I would not get pre-paid if she is going to use it for more than making calls. Everything costs you for the time you use.

I had prepaid and never used it except to call, maybe the odd text and I found I was forever putting money on it. Most of my calls were only for appointments, etc. If you call someone and are put on hold, it is eating up your minutes also.

Prepaid is not usually the best deal. You can probably get on a family plan with shareable data and come out ahead.

If you are looking for a good month to month I recommend the BYOD at Virgin they have affordable plans and run off the bell network. If you are looking for plans with data virgin has them starting at $55 for 4 GB and unlimited calling and text and calling plans starting at $28. Great company!

I have a prepay with Rogers for $180/yr. I don't have data, as I find I don't need it for what I use it for and most places have free wifi anyway. Unlimited texts, limited daytime minutes but unlimited evenings/weekends. I have an older used Samsung and have never had issues.

I have chatr for a phone right now. I pay $25 a month for text and phone unlimited. Works out to about $300 a year

How much data does your daughter use? Take a look at plans from Freedom Mobile and Public Mobile to see if any of those will meet her needs.
