Any recommendations on the best VOIP provider for rural Manitoba? I am looking to keep my same number and get unlimited in-Canada minutes with a good international package as well. I currently have Ooma for another number and it works great but it does not port my current number.

Or telnyx if you also need texting capabilities.  
 
Both can port local numbers and have really good prices.

VoipMuch.ca. Been with them for many years. Awesome customer service. Very quick and responsive. Service is great, and you can't beat their pricing at $9.45 per month. You need to buy an ATA which is the base electronic unit that connects phone to internet, but other than that, you can port your existing number from another service provider (but make sure you do this correctly or you could lose your number). And they have an additional option to "clone" your home number into a cell phone, which makes your home phone portable with wifi access, for a small monthly fee. i:ncludes free Canada/US calling, very cheap international outside of North America, virtual answering machine, call display, fax machine, no contract, and lots more. Basically, everything you might want and more. Couldn't be any happier with this VOIP provider to be honest. Total monthly bill, including cell phone "clone" option and tax is just over $12. This has been my experience for many years, but look no further than the many reviews on their website and you will see that they have many happy customers. I have no problem recommending this company, because they really do put out a good product, very good prices, and excellent customer service.

So glad for your post. This was the conclusion of my online research as well. The tech support appears to be really good. Certainly the online chat person was available and very helpful.
