Your cell phone roaming experiences with Bdn carriers
2/6/2009 at 9:07 AM
I was reading today how MTS recently expanded it's roaming coverage to most major Mexico tourist destinations.
It got me wondering what eBrandonners' experiences have been with cell phone roaming charges. What has been your experience with roaming when outside of Manitoba and Canada? and in which of those situations do potential roaming charges effect your phone usage (either data or voice usage)?
Since I've switched to Rogers, I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that when crossing into the USA the phone (at least the data portion) is on an as-needed basis. Getting 5 minutes of simple driving directions in Chicago ended up costing us $5 worth of data. I can only imagine what the bill would be if I used it for a whole day.
I wish I could remember specifics, but the year before when I was using an MTS phone I can't remember getting dinged so much for so little usage (as much as I love my new phone).
