Brandon to get Telus next year!

Yesterday Bell rolled out their new "nation wide" (excluding Manitoba/Sk/Northern Ont) HSPA 3G+ wireless network to compete with Rogers. Telus rolled it out today.
From launch, Manitoba (minus Winnipeg) is not covered by the new Telus/Bell 3G+ network, part of the Trans Canada highway (from Brandon to North East of Winnipeg) will be introduced next year.
What does this mean? This means that Telus may provide local service to Brandon, with local phone numbers, and finally the ability to use DATA on Telus here in Brandon.
The devices will be nearly the same as what Rogers is offering, they'll be selling the iPhone and many other "3G" compatible devices.
As for coverage.. I am a bit disappointed. while Telus will finally have a tower IN Brandon, they will only be covering a small portion of the province. So if you're wanting to switch to Telus, the new network will be launching sometime by end of next year. Possibly BEFORE MTS/Rogers launch their 3G network here!
Also, with the new technology (HSPA+), the data speeds will be up to 21mbps, so if you live on a farm and have no access to high speed internet, Telus might be able to fix that for you! 21mbps is much faster than what Rogers/MTS are offering for internet speeds on their wireless networks right now.
I can't wait but end of 2010 is an unbelievably long time, Brandon has been ignored far too long by most cellphone companies. Heck.. coverage on Rogers is not usable unless if you're anywhere near the Trans Canada.

This will be good for Brandonites if they open a kiosk/store here in Brandon since it will give Brandonites more choice for their cellphone services, so you won't be stuck with a choice between, MTS, Rogers, MTS, Virgin or MTS!
