Boils down to my point. I guessed it was 14 days for a price Issued solved. The 90 days is as it has been for eons policy wise by the corp.

The OP was within his/her 14 days and would be looked after. The others it depends after that refund wise.

I would not return an item and then rebuy to get a sale price. I look at prices if something I want to buy is at a price I think is fair I buy it and am done with it. If it goes on sale week later on well. To me it is personal honor. But then I guess I live by a different code my word and a handshake mean something. In 50+ years I have never taken anything back because of price. I don't return something unless it is broke. It is a matter of personal principle.

I've got a saying that applies to when I purchase anything, with the exception of warranty, once the cash has been exchanged it becomes a situation of "it's my baby now".

You have very accurately summed up what I was thinking. I believe that we all too often expect more of others than we are prepared to offer of ourselves.

Let's just say today you go to CT and really wanted/needed a treadmill. You live out of town, today you were in the area picking up farm parts. You decide to buy one that wasn't on sale, $2000 spent. Friday comes around, same treadmill 60% off. You are very fine saying oh well I feel confident in spending the extra $1200 to get what I wanted?

So if you were impulsive enough to buy a $2000 treadmill because you were in town to get farm parts, then you deserve to pay the ridiculous overinflated price.  
Anyone who shops at CT knows that they are always putting their stuff on sale so guess what.....you need to be a smart shopper who is PATIENT, knows your prices and researches bigger purchases. If you "need" a treadmill then you spend the time finding the best deal. If you can't be patient then you should have to pay the price at the time.  
Why do you expect and think you deserve to have the best of all worlds?

Yea I know they go on sale all the time. It was an example. I have been out of town working cause you know.....some people do that and when the time comes even though you are PATIENT sometime circumstances prevent you from being able bodied to buy certain items. I don't expect or think anything. It is a thing called CUSTOMER SERVICE. Guess what.....not all stores have dedicated products. They all compete selling much of the same products, many just rotate the sale times. So if CT wants my business on a say Dyson vacuum and I was away, or my flyers didn't show that week and the following after sale week Home Depot has it on sale you are saying to shop somewhere else then? Now I don't know about you but if you are a business owner and want to tell people to shop elsewhere or don't shop till something rolls over on sale again, you probably won't see me as a customer too much. When we price our customers we have held that pricing months later, we don't tell them too bad, quote was only for 30 days like stated. Sucks to be you. Shop somewhere else then. Just doesn't happen if you want repeat customers.

You’re missing one important point there sixpack! The owners often get it for a lower price when it’s on sale so why should they sell it to you at a loss when the item is no longer on sale? You can come up with whatever lame excuse as to why you couldn’t make it in but that’s your problem, not the store’s. And yes, I realize there may be some inventory left over from the deal, so what now? Hundreds of people each week harassing staff for last sale price! I’m thinking you would also ask the store to change your diaper for you too!

What are you talking about? Owners get it for a lower price when it is on sale? Where do you get that from? Owners already have these items usually in stock before the sale starts so that means the item is already bought before it goes on sale. When I worked in retail electronics it was usually manufactures telling the stores to clear things out due to excessive inventory levels. It was planned weeks in advance to give time for shipments to come in and flyers to print out. I never had hundreds of people coming into the store asking for old sale prices, just a handful. And they would get the sale price if inventory was there. Once the sale is done it is only a matter of time before it becomes a clearance item.

What about the honor of a deal. In the past your posts have shown you have honor. So let me ask you this everybody sells something. Sometimes it is product sometimes it is service sometimes it is labour. Lets for a minute say you are in construction. I ask you for a price to build a shed you give me a price figuring lumber and labour. We shake on the deal you build my shed. Now 2 weeks to buy and home Depot puts the plywood on sale. Am I within my rights to come back to you and ask you to refund me the difference. As well now Don Brown is also in construction he builds the same shed for my neighbor and charges less for his labour can I come back to you for the difference plus 10% because he is a competitor of yours and sells his labour for less money?  
Another thing you filled your car up yesterday and cost was 112 a litre tomorrow it drops to 106 are you going to the gas station and asking for money back. Or is it honor of a deal. I too work hard for my money I think long and hard buy what I want for a price that I think is fair. Most important I work hard for honor and respect.

Now you are comparing services and cost of goods combined? Ok. Let me try and answer you.  
 
I build your shed. Materials at lumber yard go on sale after shed built. Are you within rights to ask for money back? I say go for it. I will laugh a little. Did you purchase the material from me or the Home Depot? If you purchased them from the Home Depot by all means take in your receipt and talk to the pro-desk about any potential refund if within their pricing polices. Now if you bought the material from me I wouldn't have recalled giving out some sort of price match/protection guarantee.  
But......If I have not built it yet and say OSB that has taken huge price increases takes a dramatic drop and you ask for a reprice I would gladly give you the pricing of the lower OSB costing.  
 
As for cost to build something. Right off the bat I would have recommended the homeowner do his homework before hand. I would have gotten probably 3 quotes for the work. From then I would have compared pricing, quality, serviceability, etc. If I really wanted to work with a particular builder and the rates were higher I would have no problem in asking if there was some room to move. Do you think I take my vehicle to the cheapest place? Do they charge by the hour or by book time? What is the rates per way of billing? Etc. You are getting a little out of scope with these examples.  
As for the gas going up and down, it is a consumable item and one that doesn''t fluctuate enough to make a difference to me. Like I mentioned something over 100 dollar difference might catch my eye. Not a couple bucks for gas.
