Clothes shopping in Brandon for all sizes and shapes is horrendous.....

Winners carries plus size and so does Maurice’s in the mall. Not sure if Warehouse One does in store, but they do online. Reitmans used to, but last couple times in there I didn’t find much. And Giant Tiger carries plus too.  
I order from Additionelle online a lot. And I’m looking forward to my next trip into Winnipeg to check out Torrid in the outlet mall.  
But I agree, there’s not a lot here.

Heard from an inside source our Pennington’s store is going to go back to mixing the two brands again. Also reitmens has plus size to about 3x and is also a sister store to the two stores above

I wish there were more choices too. I have been shopping at Giant Tiger more lately. I'm pleasantly surprised with the selection of plus size they have and priced very reasonable.  
 
I do find I browse more online - and forgot Maurice's has plus size

does anyone think another "independent" store that carries plus sizes would do well here?

My favourite stores are Maurices and warehouse one. Where a girl can be plus sized and fashionable! Not one or the other! Giant Tiger sometimes has beautiful clothing too for a good price.  
 
My only beef with a Maurices is that they used to have a larger plus size section in the back corner. Now it’s much smaller despite at least half of their customers being larger than size 14. Warehouse one carries all sizes (XS-XXXL) in everything that they sell! certainly can’t complain about that!  
 
I do wish there were more stores in town that sold fashionable plus size clothing. I find I can’t shop at Pennington’s because I’m between sizes so it’s either too small or too big.

Evolve Studio has a selection of plus size clothing up to 3X by Jaime Lynnes jaimelynnes.ca is a locally owned Brandon Company.

Smitten carries bras, robes, sleepwear, chemises, corsets, etc up to a 3X/4X. Their bras run up to a 46/48 in band sizes and larger cup sizes as well.  
Not outer-wear but the plus size options are nice to have!

As a male over 6'-4" I have the exact same issue. I have to purchase all my clothes online. Wal-Mart and Marks are the only two men's clothing store that come close to fitting me. I guess sometimes Moore's has clothes that fit me, but it is waaaay overpriced, and the selection isn't the best.

Wish we could get a clothing store for taller men and woman, my son is 6’2 but long legs we have to order all his pants and shorts online. I’m 6’1 and have a hard time finding shirts and pants to be long enough

Pennington’s is odd sizes and I need in between. The size difference is too large imo.  
 
There are a handful of stores that sell plus size in town but each store is very limited.  
 
I like shopping at Gordmans, JC Penny, Lane Bryant, Target, Torrid and Maurice’s when in the States. Their Walmart has a better selection too.  
 
But what is really needed is a men’s plus size store. My husband pretty much only buys his clothing in the States and the odd time from Winnipeg

Other than jeans here in Brandon, I order online from Long Tall Sally. You have to go only by the pictures and half the time their sizing is off. If you have to send it back, you have to pay the shipping charges or return to the nearest store....Minneapolis???? We definitely need more specialty clothing stores in Brandon.

Head out to Shari Lyn Fashions in Virden. She carries some plus size clothes in her store. While you are there check out the Sports shop across the street. They have some plus size stuff as well. Contact It's Time in Neepawa and see if they have anything.  
I haven't been to the mall in Brandon since before Christmas because there is nothing there. I don't like to see 6 people wearing the same clothes as me every time I leave the house. The mall management should be doing some major recruiting for new stores but I don't see any change in the near future.  
I try really hard to shop locally for produce and products but have no incentive to go to the mall.

So here's the thing. If you're a man and you need plus size clothing, you'd better hope you're tall. Because "Big and Tall" is about the only place you can shop. And a short man who is big, no big and tall store that I have ever walked into has ever carried anything that fits me. A couple of times I've purchased something there (always crazy expensive) then still had to pay like $45 extra dollars to get it tailored to my size, and it still doesn't look right.  
 
My wife is also plus size. But finding clothes for her is 1000 times easier than it is for me. If I buy clothes it's almost always when I'm in the USA and at a walmart, where they carry clothes for heavier guys. And if I find pants that fit? Well I'd better buy three pairs because this isn't happening again anytime soon.  
 
It would be AMAZING if a plus sized store opened in Brandon and they carried plus size for short men too. I was once told of a store in Toronto that has stuff for heavy short men, but was also told it's the only store in Toronto that caters to them, and it's all very expensive.  
 
For real, I'm far from the only heavy man who is short, but the lack of service for us is astounding. It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to look presentable without spending a small fortune on clothes.  
 
It's interesting how different it is for women because again my wife is plus size, and about my height, and while it's a little harder for her to find clothes than women who are a size two, there are a handful of stores in Brandon that cater to her sizes. For me it's either a store in Toronto, Walmart in the states, or a $70 Big and Tall shirt plus $45 tailoring.
