shopping online any problems?  
shipping to brandon reviews (cost/ dependable/problems)

I have shopped online at Costco.  
 
I do not have a membership and kept waiting for them to ask for one, they never did.  
 
No problems in the product or shipping.  
 
(It was about four years ago though)

We have never had a problem and my shipping has been free. Most items you will have in a couple of days.

That's because you don't need a membership to shop online!  
 
However, non-members have to pay a 5% surcharge on most online items, and some Costco online prices are up to 20% higher than the prices offered in store.

I guess you don't need a membership!!

Nope you've never needed a membership to shop Costco online however the prices aren't the same that members pay in store. Non members will pay 5% surcharge when they shop online . It's always been that way

It may be that way, but it was not when I purchased two items a few years ago.  
 
As I said, I had someone check the price at Costco in Winnipeg and they were not coming out here, so I purchased online at the same price.  
 
My part about going through the check out process and waiting for a membership was to help others that maybe did not know, you did not need one......being helpful, not needing a:  
 
you do not need a membership to shop online!!  
 
That is what I was saying one was not needed.

I buy online at costco.ca without a membership and have never had a 5% surcharge applied - I think they dropped that practice, at least in Canada, a few years ago.  
 
Having said that, some of the items at costco.ca do indicate that they can only be purchased by members. So there is that.

As mentioned, I had no surcharge a "few years" ago when I made my purchase online, without a membership.

Are also American. I've never seen the surcharges on the Canadian site, and prices were the same as in store. The biggest difference was selection and the fact you have to pay for shipping.

I am sure they gave you a better price, than they would have others..

I think we're saying the same things....there used to be an actual surcharge if you shopped costco.ca without a membership. That was years ago. There is no longer a surcharge, but shipping is i:ncluded in the prices, so they may be higher than in the store.  
 
Having said that, the website and store are complementary - there are things on the site that aren't in the store, and vice versa.  
 
The point is, you can buy stuff from costco without a membership, if you shop their website. If it's a great price and you have no other reason to visit an actual store, then it's a great way to go.  
 
I buy specific items on their website that are cheaper on costco.ca than anywhere else. However I have no desire to ever visit their stores, so a membership makes no sense for me. I pay what a member would pay to shop their website. Works for me.
