Looking good is about looking good for your age, lifestyle, weight, colouring, size and comfort level.
The OP never said anything about a suit or business attire. Where did people get this impression?
What the OP said was wanting help for finding clothes that flatter and finding styles that work for the OP...both in looks and lifestyle. Does no good to be given high maintenance fashion advice if you only have 5-10 minutes to get ready for the day. (I don't actually know anyone with more than 10 minutes to get ready in a day.)
And comfortable doesn't automatically mean ugly. Spicing things up can be as easy as a cute jacket, cool earrings and a trademark bracelet added to your favorite t-shirt and jeans. Plus maybe switching out one pair of shoes for another.
Looking good might just be that you are wearing the wrong size or need a different cut jean. Or just accessorizing. Maybe it is just doing something different with your hair.
Goodness knows my daughter does a 1 minute updo with her hair and everybody asks her what the special occassion is.
I can throw on a comfortable and pretty tank with a cute jacket and people think I am off on a date after work because I am "dressed up". So how is looking good a problem or a huge time commitment? Or that if you look good then you must be insecure?
It still takes the same amount of time to throw on a top, jeans and shoes. Looking good, okay or crappy is more of a matter of what top and what jeans. Knocking it out of the ballpark is easy. A few accessories or a simple hairstlye that works for you and you are done.
Make-up is optional. I have sensitive skin so mine is seldom more than mascara and lip gloss. I can do full face and do so on occassion. But that doesn't fit with my lifestyle. I will not commit more than 10 minutes to getting ready daily (not counting hygiene time, just getting dressed, hair and make-up).
Practical, comfortable and makes YOU feel good are what matter.
