Have noticed three separate people masked in vehicles in the McDs drive thru in the last two days. Real Encouraging to see that level of commitment and the message it sends!

I've been wearing masks in drive thrus forever. Didn't unmask when allowed to.

That argument doesn't really hold a lot of water when you consider province has no problem mandating vaccines for employees in public service. If they can mandate masks for public servants and mandate vaccines for those who visit an establishment., they can mandate vaccines for those working around the public.

I agree with your logic on a lot of levels. Maybe the difference is that the employees that are mandated are technically government employees? An employer can mandate their employees be vaccinated, but I'm not sure they can impose that on people who are not directly employed by the government. Same with federal - they can only mandate for those falling under their pervue.  
 
Could they just write it into health orders? Maybe there's a reason why they can't. But they are certainly able to restrict participation in optional activities, which they have.  
 
Just a guess/speculation. I might be out to lunch here.

I think we all need to lean off of restaurants a little here, not only are they having a hard time filling roster spots, but to pile on by requiring vaccinations might be a bit much right now...especially when some of them hire people that are under 18 and might not yet be fully vaccinated.  
 
It would seem as though government is leaning on us as citizens to lead the charge on vaccinations by mandating it for popular spots like casinos, gyms, restaurants and theatres. They are allowing them to be open after so many months of changing mandates. They deserve a bit of a break.  
 
And let's be clear, those that work at these places will eventually have to dine out or want to go see a movie themselves...they too will eventually have to be vaccinated if they want a social life.

Is not the time to ease off mandates and precautions regardless of how difficult it has been for the restaurant industry. If masks are off so diners can eat, then yes, of course they should be double vaxxed. How much of a hardship is it for employers to check vaccination cards? Anyone wanting to work in the general public needs to be double vaxxed period. I do not want a waitress or anyone else at risk of making me sick anywhere near me. I would think it is more preferable than having to shut everything down again due to the Delta wave.

in a restaurant owner's shoes. Do you know how difficult customers have been all along? Customers have been rude to staff, not just in restaurants. Constantly changing rules from the gov't to blame.  
We have to been dine in when able to, so far we've not caught covid or got any kind of illness. We would never enter a place and ask if all staff have been doubled vaccinated, never. We know how to wash our hands and keep our fingers out of our mouths when out and about, sheesh.

That’s the whole point, to mandate Covid vaccination with a ‘soft’ mandate.  
Very soon those unvaccinated without valid exemptions ( which are very few) will be unable to work, travel, eat out or attend events. And that’s a great thing because those unwilling to do the right thing to protect others will be left with no choice.  
It’s time to stop messing around with excuses . Together using our common sense we can beat covid 19.

If there has been time for children 12 and up to get both shots t be ready for school there has been lots of time for anyone older, especially if they are are of "working age" or at least 18. 2nd shot was done early July and anyone 12 and up were eligible in May 2021 (see screen shot of MB Covid vaccine info)
