Walmart lay away

Not looking to start a debate about what people can afford and living within ones means. Was talking to a guy that says thier Walmart has lay away for the Christmas season and I said I don't think ours does. Has that changed since they've become a supercentre?

The walmart in the Coral Centre does not have layaway. I have been told that there isn't enough space.

Thanks! Buddy couldn't believe they would invest in a building a supercentre and not have that service but I was positive they didn't

They had layaway at the shoppers mall location and when they first moved to the corral center. They did quit long before they grew into a super center though.

The reason they stooped with the layaway is people would come in and put thousands of items that were tough to come by on layaway and then never come back to pick them up. Started to require a 10% down payment to hold the item which was nonrefundable and thenjoy people stopped putting items on hold so stopped with the layaway all together!

i know maybe you dot get the deals and such but you could do your own christmas layaway by putting $10 or whatever you can afford under the mattress or auto bank payment into a savings account, that way you have the cash set aside ...good luck

with that said i thought wlamart had layaway, i know they used to but havent paid attention to that so IDK

While layaway is primarily awesome for the ease of budgeting, its also useful to be able to set aside items that may be gone by the time you have enough saved up. Or to take advantage of sale prices.

As an employee of walmart I can tell you that the only thing we offer layaway on is when you buy our more expensive pieces of jewelry. Since these can cost several hundred dollars and need to be ordered in we offer law away on these items.

thats why i said you dont get the deals and such....but if you saved your money you can still wait for a sale, sales happen all the time and they are put there so you spend now which isnt always in your best interest

ps sorry but i dont think layaway is awesome for budgeting because if you could budget you wouldnt need layaway
