Is it just me, or are garage sales seeming to be really expensive this year? I remember past years where I'd go garage saleing to find awesome "treasures" so to speak... but all the ones I've been to (I've been to quite a lot this summer lol) majority of things are all way way overpriced...and the quality isn't even worth 10$ let alone 40$ asking price... am I the only one who noticed this?

I agree, I quit garage sales a few years ago because all there seemed to be was dirty worn out cloths and chipped dishes.

but quite going, as most start Friday afternoon now, even as early as Thursday, hard for a working person to take time off for that, and there is not much sense in going if it is still on Sat. Nothing much left by then.

Well we have a Half a Garage full of stuff to go, 2 houses combined, not doing a garage sale today but what do you need?? I might have it, PM me , last time we had a sale a person would buy 3 or 4 things, I'd throw in a few more things, need the garage back very soon....

Tell that to kiddo who got a hot wheels battery powered car at a sale earlier this year for 10 cents that we would've paid 2 bucks for without blinking

It's funny, at our sale there were four items in particular that I thought were intentionally under-priced so that we could get rid of them but didn't sell. Listed them on the classifieds after the sale at what I felt were still very good deals and no fooling three of the four sold for more than what they were priced for at the sale and the fourth was at the same price.

But wouldn't say I've noticed any kind of trend or change. Some sales sell cheap to get rid of stuff, some price as well as they can to try to maximize what they make. Make the rounds early enough and there are deals to be had.

Not sure but way to much just garbage at them too much clothes and stuff on the ground 2 things i drive right by

We checked out the sales for a couple of weekends.
Some were expensive & some didn't have what we were looking for & some were just garbage.
Bought a pair of Ramps for $50.00, new would have been $200.00, Bought a dozen wine glasses for a good price.
A hole auger for $5.00.
When we have had a garage sale, it is priced to get rid of it. Don't want to pack it up again.

Used to do them every weekend but I found myself walking away from most of them more and more now thinking if I wanted to pay retail I would go to a store and buy the item new.Especially in the new subdivisions.

Used to love seeing OBO on items or make offers. No one wants to do that anymore.
I have tried offering a different price very politely and some people get upset. I mean it's a yard sale not Walmart.
Pricing is too high, people are doing it for the money. Not to clean house. I know I do it to clean house. I mark my stuff 50 cent or a buck. I want a o get rid of it

I used to like going to yard sales but I have found that within the last 3-ish years they just haven't been worth getting up early for lol. I blame swap and shop pages for it. People can get more for their items online than at a yard sale (nothing wrong with that) so now I just usually shop from the comfort of my home.

The odd time we'll stop at a big sale but The good deals are rare
