Where is the best place to shop groceries and produce in Brandon. In terms of price and good service?

I have to say Walmart hands down. Though if you check flyers and watch for deals sometimes things come up else where. Usually Giant tiger/Safeway/Superstore are the places I look for deals. Like 0.77$/lb apples at superstore this week. I gotta say Walmart isn't top quality produce but most isn't bad.

I prefer sobeys for produce and meat, Walmart for everything else. Coop for only sales of anything. Superstore I won''t go near, the parking lot is a joke and the store inside is always so busy.  
 
But like anything, it's all personal preference.

I find Walmart produce is iffy. Superstore is my preference though admit am able to shop on a weekday am so not as busy. Huge turn over of produce so always fresh. I find Safeway, Sobeys, and Coop very pricey.

I go to superstore for the points, but I don't like their buy "buy groups" promo.

I was never a huge superstore fan but I am now!! The click and collect is our favourite. I order online and my husband goes and gets it.  
 
We went to Walmart today as I needed other stuff and wanted to look at a few things. He said that he hated it and only wants to do SS from now on haha  
 
When I'm in the mood to shop, Sobeys is my favourite though

Always fresh produce, unbeatable prices and amazing points system. I've earned so many free groceries just by shopping and buying my gas there. Can be busy at times but if you're able to go later in the evening it's very quiet.

It will give you all the current brandon flyers and if your looking for one particular item you can search for it and it will find which store has it and for how much...  
 
I've had it for about 3 years and it's never crashed..... about a year ago at sobeys they didn't have an item on sale in the store that was in the flyer... I took out my phone, showed the clerk and they adjusted the price

I use the flipp app and price match all the time at superstore, giant tiger and Walmart. Sobey's won't price match. I find the meat is better quality at Sobey's which is worth the extra money. Everything else I buy at superstore or Walmart. I do like the point card at superstore as well!!

I shop Superstore for fruit or Sobeys when there is a sale. Walmart for bagged salads. Meat from Sobeys or Coop for quality and when they have sales they are usually awesome. For all other groceries I find Superstore and Walmart comparable. Sometimes we get meat from East 40 packers.

I hope you don't consider this being snoopy, but what sort of products do you purchase at east 40 packers, I know they process pigs out there,and I like pork products, so my curiosity has gotten the best of me.

We usually go with the meat packs, its mostly pork (bacon, picnic hams, porkchops, ribs, etc) but theres also ground beef. We've also gotten hens, pepperettes. They have a pretty extensive list of products. Id recommend checking them out.

Walmart sells Dairyland milk and 1 litre of 2% is 40 cents less there than at Co-op (I'm talking Minnedosa Co-op, probably it's less at the Brandon store).

I buy most of our day-to-day groceries and household at Superstore. I find they're about the cheapest and their produce is much, much better than Wal-Mart, although if I'm at Wal-Mart I will pick up Dairyland milk.  
 
I will buy flyer items at Sobey's if they didn't get price-matched at Superstore.  
 
I buy 90% of the meat we eat either directly from the farm or from Tendercut as a side usually. I get eggs from a guy my husband works with when he has them.  
 
I find I'm buying more and more from Bulk Barn, especially now that I can bring my own containers.  
 
I buy some staple produce from a local chemical-free farm especially things like potatoes. I grow as much as i can myself too and freeze/can what i can.

When did they start allowing you bring your own containers? I think this is great, will definitely be going there with my own container.

I find I tend to spend a small fortune when I go in there (my fault, I just throw spoonfuls in!! Lol) but some stuff I do feel is cheaper at other stores. In general, would you say it's cheaper on most things though? Maybe if I measure properly?? Lol. Specifically interested in coconut and almond flour, coconut oil, xantham gum, sugar substitutes(do they have swerve?), natural peanut butter, Erythritol, coconut aminos (if they sell it?)  
 
 
This whole bringing your own container....how does it work? I'm not a huge germaphobe but this does kinda make me wonder how clean it is?? Can someone please explain? There must be some sanitary protocol to follow, right???

coop has great sales on their meat and produce and I prefer their quality.

for most of our basic shopping, other than produce, meat and bread. I find their produce to be sub par, and they dont have the variety that Superstore does. I am becoming less pleased with Walmart in general, they are always out of stock on at least 3 basic pantry items on my list. They are also phasing out name brands and replacing with Great Value, I prefer name brands on most items, so every time I shop there I have to make another stop at Safeway or Superstore.

Where do you buy your deli meats?

Safeway, Obermeiers, or Tendercuts. I always buy fresh sliced, never packaged.

We like Co-op and Sobey's as the butchers are more than accommodating.  
 
Have to also give a shout out to Henry Meats. Very short drive on Trans Canada West to #270 (Rivers turn-off) and 2.5 km North. They have a FB page (search Henry Meats Brandon). Lots of goodies there and hormone free local fresh meat. They have a small storefront also with lovely condiments, chocolate bars and snack food from Britain. Great service and locally raised meat and poultry.
