Anyone know where I can rent or buy a portable pipe steamer?

You can make your own steam plant. Take an old propane tank and fit it with a ball valve and install a male end that you can attach a garden hose to. Put a litre or so of water in it then light a tiger torch and put it on your stem tank with the valve closed. After a while you build up pressure and can open the valve alittle and send steam down your garden hose. It is great for thawing cattle waterers

This sounds pretty dangerous . What happens if you walk away and forget about it. You might want to install a relief valve some how.
As for thawing out waterers or anything really what I prefer is a Little Giant sump pump reduce down to 5/8 hose or so and put the pump in a five gallon pail of hot water. I have thawed sewer lines /water lines and eaves using this method.
