I should have thought of this when I read your OP as ours does the same if we have the fan run continuous, something I wish it wouldn't. If the fan is on all the time, it shuts down when the purge blower runs for a minute, then starts up when the plenum gets hot. Wish the fan could run continuously, so we decided to turn the fan off and it only runs now when heating.
