I was wondering if anyone out there might have a recommendation/suggestion as to who I could contact about a siding job on my house. I have no knowledge of the process as I've never dealt with that particular job before: I just know it can be pricey. I did a quick Google search but it didn't yield a ton of results. If anyone in the field happen to read this here's the specs: a 920 sq. ft. bungalow with detached garage. Presently wood siding wanting to upgrade to something that does't need paint... any info would be appreciated.

Just FYI your looking at around $30,000...if your wanting them to strip the old, and put up the new

It will be pricy. We had wanted to add more insulation to our exterior and reside it. We too have wood siding. We priced out just the siding- we needed something durable that would withstand hail and we got 3 quotes. Minimum was $30,000! That was for a 1200sq ft bungalow no garage. Nope, wasn’t going to happen.  
 
We redid our soffits and Eavestroughing for about $4000 (Brandon Eaves). A bit of lumber to fix some rotted trim boards, silicon, 7 pails of paint and 2 weekends we had a new house! A fraction of the cost. We used Behr exterior paint and so far so good. Even if we have to paint every 10 years so be it.

You are picking the most expensive siding. Wood will be 25,000-30,000 for you  
 
If you did vinyl, it would have been under 15,000

Sure it’s cheaper but who wants to constantly have hail damage. We seem to be in a bad place for hail and have had way to many hail claims.  
 
If you have wood stick with wood or get high quality of something else but don’t go with just what is the cheapest because you will regret it.

I put Hardie board on our house last year. Did it myself and cost around $5000
