Can you paint Tyndall Stone? If so what kind of paint should be used?

but once painted you can't unpaint  
kinda like painting out beautiful woodwork and trim in an older home. there will come a time when you wished you hadn't

Why would you want to ??

To update the house. Currently a 70’s Stone cream color, would like a darker charcoal color, something more modern without the expense of replacing the stone.

Asked a paint specialist and they suggested using a latex paint. I would have thought a oil base. But maybe not.

Painting over real stone to make it look like fake poly stone ? Perhaps stay with the beige/brown colour scheme if possible. Charcoal may go out of style anyway.

I'd paint it too. Let me know what they recommend you paint it with ... might need to do this in the future myself!!

have real stone on them that is in the same colour palette as tyndall stone and they are still current. Leave the stone alone and go on HOUZZ.com and search exteriors and pictures that have colours that bring out the natural beauty of this stones colour tones rather than covering it with a bland monotone paint scheme. Painting stone can make it look like covered styrofoam without the depth of tones. Painting stone and brick is a last resort in my opinion.

I was thinking about changing the color of my brick, best ting i found to change the ton but keep it brick was a brick stain, maybe there is something like that for your stone? otherwise i would research Dans suggestion and see if you can make your house a more timeless look instead of painting for this fad
