Another +1 for gontree.
My only complaint is I didn't know and no one told me that my towering poplars put out sucker shoots when they get cut down as a defense mechanism.
To be fair, I should have done better research on my trees.
I had the stumps ground up the same day the trees were cut down, but it took a year before the suckers starting sprouting and they have been a nightmare ever since.
So OP, if it's a fresh stump maybe poison the stump and roots first before getting it ground out.
