Wood Countertops

Building a new house, anyone have any experience with wood countertops? I love the look of them, but worried they won’t stand up to much and/or may stain easily.

We did the butcher block wood in our old place. Easy to install. But you have to treat it first. And I found that you cannot cut on your countertop at all unless using cutting board. The wood would get cut up. I was also so worried if water was sitting on it for a bit. Would stain or soak in. They look really nice but I will never do one again.
