Building home addition

Considering building a home addition. Approximately 400 square feet, couple bedrooms. Anyone have experience or done so in last couple years? What was approximate cost per square foot? We are still debating full basement or just crawl space. Any recommendations of companies? Other points to consider?

Would definitely consider a slab if it is an allowable option.

A nother option would be screw piles not expensive at all and works great.

Just a thought but what do the planning regulations insist upon, maybe contact the planning office and get confirmation of what is allowable and any other possible restrictions.
