Any recommendations for best type of composite decking in our climate. We have dogs so want durability and a hot tub we use in the winter, ideally less slippery. Looking for durability and very low maintenance. Recommendations for installers? Would be replacing and hopefully enlarging our current deck, steps and railing.

My in-laws have it and it’s very slippery in winter. I imagine add water/ice from a hot tub would be worse.

I think the brands that have more texture can be less slippery? Even our wood deck now can be slippery with ice build up. Does anyone have specific brands they would recommend over others?

Instead of a composite, we went with a PVC deck board, Endeck by Enduris. The "grain" of the board is actually molded into the board giving it a non-slip surface. Keep in mind, that no board is 100% non-slip, but we have found this product to be the best (in use for 6+ years now). There are pros and cons to it, like any product, but overall we couldn't ask for anything better.

Trex Transcend. Not cheap but I would recommend it. Well worth it. Anything you get ice or water on will be slippery.....It’s textured so it’s at least as good for that as anything else. We installed it about 10 years ago and it still looks new. And their hidden fasteners work well and are also worth it.

We also have the Trex Transcend.... is more expensive than the Trex Select and Trex Enhance but is more durable, and not slippery at all due to the deep and more enhanced grooving. We installed the decking ourselves with the hidden fasteners and is very easy to do. If you want more info.... just dm me.
