So I am thinking on redoing my mobile home walls. They have strips down x feet I would like to remove and plaster in. Then finish off with paint. The walls have some sort of wallpaper that doesn't remove. Will the paint/ plaster adher to it or? Looking for advice from folks who have done this. 2003 mobile home

you just need a really good primer.

Can u get away with a mix primer paint

I wouldn’t do that. With all the movement it’s only going to crack. There is a reason they use that wallboard in trailers.  
 
You can paint over that wallboard just fine. Paint and primer in one. Wash with TSP first.

I have painted our mobile walls several times, however have left the strip on the walls . Walls are gyproc wrapped in vinyl, used paint and primer in one which most paints now are. Had no issues. I use behr paint!

Don't remove the strips and mud. Don't try and remove the paper covering and mud. If you do, for the most part you get hairline or sometimes bigger cracks that you are forever fixing. Been there done that. Just use a good primer and paint. If you do that, those annoying strips seem to blend in much better.

My parents had that same wallpaper stuff almost like a vinyl covering in their mobile and they painted it with the Behr paint. Didn’t take very much paint as it doesn’t soak in but it looks incredible. Covered with one coat. They washed it first use TSP or that Natura cleaner got it from from Home Hardware similar to TSP.  
They also painted the wall board too looks like a new place and definitely brightens their home,  
They removed a few of the wood strips but they decided to put them back on and just painted over them.
