Hi there I know nothing about this topic I would like some advise building movers for a home to be moved and wood vs concrete as in the lowest cost and recommended contractors. thank you I look forward to your replies

Would say wood is usually a fair bit cheaper, but now a days probably not. Either way your better off spending the money and doing it right with icf blocks and concrete. It’s insulated already and will last forever!

1) ICF  
2) Half ICF, Half wood.  
2) concrete  
 
Depending where your building, but I would say no to full wood basement.

IFC is the best way to go it is currently almost on par in cost but way better option. Problem is you currently can’t get them as everyone started using the ifc forms due to cost of wood so there is a supply shortage.

i would do icf personally but what about doing a precast wall just wondering the cost differnce between that and icf. i know the 6th street coop walls are precast.

Just did addition crawl space like this. Mid west concrete logix icf $22 a piece $200/yd for concrete plus delivery. Easy to do and put together. Costs less then wood cause you don't need to insulate vapour barrier.

looks like ICF is the way to go. Thank you to everyone for your suggestions. I am now looking for suggestions to contractors who can give an estimate as soon as possible for ICF basement. The house to be moved onto it is 27'x 34'. We are just looking for standard height on basement 8' .

I wouldn't have a basement at all. If you can, build a bigger main floor. I have had no use for stairs all through the years, yet have had a basement all through the years. Anyway, in recent years, one story, no basement, no stairs. It's the only way to go as far as I'm concerned. If you stay there into your golden years, you will be all set, for when you can't climb those stairs no more. Good luck.
