Looking at doing siding in the spring. Has anyone used A&M Siding? Thinking of Hardie Board so want someone with lots of experience.

My house is 23 years old. We used vinyl siding. We are not happy with that choice. In cold weather it becomes brittle and is prone to cracks and breaks. One side was pounded by hail and had to be replaced.  
 
Companies changed hands so we’re unable to secure an exact match. Now ten years later both lots have faded.  
 
My question is, what type of siding are you happy with? If we stay with vinyl, can it be painted? Who would you hire to paint it?  
 
Prior post talks about Harde Board. What other options are there?

We had the siding redone on our mobile in 2010 after we had hail damage. We went with Rainbow Eavestroughing Ltd. It was a bit pricey but so worth it. It was seamless steel I believe. I don't think it will ever have to be replaced, even with hail damage.

Hardie board and CanExel fibre siding are both good options. The latter is easier to install since it has a fin.
