Best place to get supplies to redo our kitchen

We are looking to put in laminate flooring, countertops, paint, sand old cupboards and restain
we've got one quote from home depot but would like to know of other places where people have gotten good buisness and good prices...we plan to do it before he leaves for more military training next month.
Hes doing it all himself which will cut down on the cost and has done all this before threw his old job
