I have central air. When I hold my hand over the register, the air is definitely cool, but not overly cold, if that makes sense. The air coming out of the vent in my vehicle definitely feels colder than what comes out of the registers in my house. I am thinking that maybe the freon needs topping up.  
 
Those of you with central air, and if you are pretty sure your freon is ok, would you say the air is cool right out of the register, or is it more like freezing cold?  
 
I am debating paying the money to have it checked out.
