Hi ebrandon ...I am in need of suggestions...we are thinking of doing a major kitchen Reno ....new floors ,kitchen cabinets and taking down a few walls.-would probably need an engineer to say if they are low bearing  
Can you please provide info on good contractors, a great place to get cabinets and flooring and anything else I might not be thinking of...

I would highly recommend JMB Tile and Renovations for your flooring and most of the other renovation work. Local company who does great work at a competitive price. I've hired them for a couple of renovations in my home (bathroom and kitchen) and was very happy with the experience I had dealing with them and the quality of work they did. I know that at the co-op lumber yard in Souris they have some cards there left by local contractors, might be the same in Brandon.

Definitely talk to Tracy at McMunm and Yates. She is awesome to work with and her prices are very competitive

For cabinets check the Hutterite colonies, one where we live (can't remember the name) does custom cabinets, really good quality and very very good price. I know tons of people who have got them for their homes and we got them at work. I just had a realtor tell me there is no one else he would use for cabinets.

I second this recommendation. Had our kitchen backsplash done and love it. Can do some really nice layouts and designs.
