We are considering Hardi board siding for our house exterior upgrade. We would like to hear some reviews and considerations. We know the cost mainly wondering how it stands up and how it is to install.

I used it on some houses on the Gulf. It was first used in the area do to its durability. I did have issues with the caulking matching in some colors though

product on 90% of the houses I draw for clients.I will say it is a higher end product but just like every other building material, you get what you pay for! However, it is only as good as the install. So make sure you find a credible installer and view their past projects in person to make sure they meet your standards. It is a bit intensive to install but if the installer uses fibre cement shears rather than trying to cut with a circular saw or chop saw, it should go smoothly.  
 
You may also want to check out www.allurausa.com. This is a fibre cement product comparable to James Hardie and in my opinion has some nicer colours. You should be able to get it locally. I believe Home Hardware.

We put it on our house and love it.  
Definitely call Hardie and talk to them about who is a recommended installer
