I recently got my child's welcome to kindergarten package and have a couple questions. I have tried emailing the school and have called and left voicemails, but haven't been able to get an answer. Due to my work schedule, I can't try stopping by the school during the day until a couple weeks from now, so I'm hoping maybe someone knows from experience.  
 
I'm looking specifically for information for Betty Gibson but if you have info about other schools, feel free to share, as maybe there's another parent out there wondering too.  
 
1. With it being full day, every day kindergarten, do they stagger the class for the first week or so (ex: half the class one day, the other half the next, etc)? I have heard rumors it is done that way, but have never been able to confirm.  
 
2. Do the kids get nap time? My friend's child goes to a different school and they do: just wondering if Betty Gibson does.  
 
3. Do the kids get to take snacks to eat at a snack time?  
 
Any other insight anyone has is much appreciated. This is my first child going to school, so just trying to get as prepared as possible (for example, weaning off of a morning snack if necessary).

I have not heard of a Kinder program with nap time anymore, so I would say no to that.  
 
Yes, Kinders typically have snack time in AM and PM where they bring their own food.  
 
Many schools offer a staggered start so I would assume that would be the case.  
 
Secretaries are usually back to work around the third week of August, so you could call back then with questions and there will be someone at the school.  
 
I’m sure your child will have an awesome year ahead!

1. Yes for our school (Not BG) they do stagger days. They explained it and gave us a calendar on the days they're supposed to attend.  
 
2. No, there are no naps.  
 
3. Yes, they have an AM snack and a PM snack. We got a list of what is appropriate and what is not for snack.

No one is in the school in summer. You can try to get info from the Brandon school division on 6th street or wait for the week before school.

My son was in Kindergarten last year (not BG). To answer a couple questions, he got a PM snack only, no nap and yes there was a staggered entry. You should get a package sometime in August. You will likely have a meet and greet with a teacher and a small assessment to see where your child is at academically upon entry. Your child will not start on the 4th with everyone else. Kindergarteners start full time the following Monday with the first week of school being staggered entry.
